We are happy to report that Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens seem to be doing just fine post-breakup.

But are things so fine that they're back together?


Sadly, the two are still split, but sources tell us that they are back in touch—and even spending some time together. "They're talking and hanging out," one source said. "They needed the break and are still figuring things out."

As we first told you, the High School Musical sweethearts quietly ended their long romance last month.

Efron was spotted visiting Hudgens at her L.A.-area home Tuesday and yesterday before he hit the People's Choice Awards where he was named Favorite Movie Star Under 25. (Yeah, he beat out Robert Pattinson). Looking sharp in Burberry, a short-haired Efron was spotted mingling with newly-single Taylor Swift on the blue carpet and inside the theater, as well as with Miranda Cosgrove, Emma Roberts, fellow HSM alum Ashley Tisdale and Big Bang Theory funny man Jim Parsons.

Has absence made the heart grow fonder? It sure seems that way for Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens.

The pair, who announced their split in December, appeared to be more than friends at Friday evening's SHG's Eden Hollywood opening, where they were "constantly touching and kissing each other," an onlooker tells PEOPLE.

After arriving with pal Brittany Snow around midnight, the actors quickly took to the dance floor. "Vanessa was bopping around with her arms up while Zac had his hands all over her," the source says. "Vanessa had a smile on from ear to ear and the two were inseparable after that."

Eventually heading towards a table, the couple proceeded to get cozy – and stay that way for the rest of the evening.

"Zac sat in between her legs and she wrapped her arms around him," the onlooker notes. "They were making out on and off for the last hour or so until closing. They acted like there was no one else in the room."

Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens were spotted rekindling their romance at Eden Nightclub along with pal Brittany Snow on Friday (January 7), according to E!

“They were inseparable throughout the night seen dancing, drinking Belvedere and canoodling,” a source said.

Vanessa “only broke from [Zac]’s side to dance with Brittany on the couches at their table,” the source added.

Another eyewitness added “they were directly next to our table and were all over each other, dirty dancing and making out.”
