VANESSA HUDGENS - HOT MAGAZINE INTERVIEWQ:
we hear you were pretty fearless when you were daingall of the stunts for journey 2. what was scariest thing you did ? V :the scariest thing for me was propably being strapped into a harness and raised up to the top of the soundstage and then leaning back and being dropped . That was pretty terrifying. You don’t know when the floor is going to be right underneath you and you don’t know if the wires are going to actually work. It’s like whiplash every singletime .
Q:
Did you have any training ? V:No not really (laughs) you just have to go for it and do it
Q:
we ’ ve been told that you’re also quite the diverV:well , I’ve been certified for three years now . I love diving and it’s a lot easier if you get certified because then you can dive much deeper. i went down like 100 feet and it was the best thing ever! I just loved it so much .
Q:
where did you go diving ? V:I got certified in turks and caicos . It was just so beautiful, going into caves and seeing schools of barracudas
Q:
What is the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done in your life?V:I love camping ! ever since I was young I’d go up to Yoursmite with my family. I went on a trip with my friends not too long ago and we went diff jumping . I loved diff jumping . I’m and adrenaline junkie, I think I’m going to skydiving very soon to ?
Q:
have you always been such a risk taker ? V:yeah ,I think it’s just fun . I loved stepping into the unknown and just going for it
Q:
but clearly you’ve never broken anything ?
V:I’ve never broken anything (laughs)
Q:
you’ve been in the business since you were really young . what do you concider when you’re choosing your roles ? V:I think that it just happens itself . I just find things I gravitate towards , and characters that I want to play. It doesn’t really matter if it’s a big or a small film. Slowly it just starts to work out itself
Q:
having worked so much for so long , do you feel like you’ve had to grow up faster than most kids you age?V:when I was a little bit younger , I felt like I had to act older than I actually was. I grew up doing a lot of musical theatre and I was always the only kid and I was surrounded by adults all the time. Butnow I feel like I’m coming into my own . I realize that I can be as silly and as young as I want to be, but at the same time , I know how to take care of my business.Growing up around adults and having that experience that allowed me to getknow myself better I feel like I’m more of a kid now than I was before.
Q:
we hear that you’ve been thinking about going to college in the future . any plans on what you’d like to study ? V:as of now,no . who knows what the future will holf, but I’m so happy and excited to be where I am now. Ifeel like I’m doing things that obviously wouldn’t be able to do it I was in college. I love acting and I want to stick with it .
Q:
your new hairdo has gotten you quite a lot of attentionV:I cut it off for the last movie that I did Gimme Shelter , in the beginning if the movie,my character cuts her hair off in a frenzy and ends up leaving herself with the super messy haircut, but she’s complete tomboy so she doesn’t care . It caused quite and impact through. Like for the girls when they want to start a new , they chop off their hair.I mean either to chop off your hair or get a tattoo , right ?
Q:
or buy new shoesV:or buy a new shoes , yeah ! (laughs)
Q:
we think it’s really cute but do you like it ? V: I do but I also love haing long hair . It’s like a security blanket. and it’s an accesory : It just makes everything look better. But it’s been fun. It’s been fun to mix things up and change up my look . and just try things.
Q:
was it really shock initially through ? V:kind of . but it wasn’t at the same time because I actually cut it myself. so I had nobody to blame but myself, which kinda made it a little better. my director got in there too , of course and took a massive chunk of the top of my head. which are shorter than rest of my hair.but it built the character so he was very happy.
Q:
you didn’t cry ? V:I didn’t cry , I was really really excited about the movie and I loved my character . I was so excited to tackle it and recreating my wholelook adder that extra oomph that I wanted and needed
Q:
you’ve achieved so much success at such a young age. what advice would you give to someone who wants to follow in your career footsteps ?
V:stay true to yourself. It’s such a crazy industry, and there are always things being thrown at you left and right, and beople who want you to act a certain way , but i feel like just as long asyou stay true to yourself ,and do what makes you happy, you can never fail.
Q:
is part of that process not looking the internet well ?V:oh,yeah. I hate the internet (laughs) No I love it - shopping online is one of my guilty pleasures. but internet makes everything way too much accesible. like back in the day stufies controlledwhat the audience sees but nowadays, there is paparazzi following you around every single day!
