Zac Efron and Lily Collins' spring fling is over.

After just three months together, The Lucky One actor, 24, and the Mirror Mirror actress, 23, have split, multiple insiders confirm to Us Weekly exclusively.

"They're no longer together. They were never serious, though; it was just a casual thing and it fizzled," one insider explains. "They were never in the same place at the same time."

A second source adds: "Zac was never very serious about her. He didn't talk about her to friends."

The stars were first spotted holding hands during a friend's birthday dinner at L.A. eatery STK February 8. After that, the low-key stars -- who have been photographed together only once -- only grew further apart.

"It's true that their schedules are crazy right now, which isn't conducive to a relationship being easy," a pal tells Us.

However, the romance has now "fizzled out" due to their hectic schedules, according to Usmagazine.com. A source tells the website, "They're no longer together. They were never serious, though; it was just a casual thing and it fizzled (out). They were never in the same place at the same time." Collins had previously dated Twilight hunk Taylor Lautner, while Efron had a long-standing public romance with his High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens.

Zac Efron and Lily Collins Split Months Ago, Confirms Source

Us Weekly reported Monday that Zac Efron and Lily Collins have broken up after three months of dating; however, Celebuzz is told their fling actually ended months earlier.

“They stopped hanging out back in April,” a source close to Efron, 23, tells us. “It was never serious, they just went out on a few dates, that’s it.”

Zac, 24, was spotted out with the Mirror Mirror star on a dinner date on Valentine’s Day, fueling rumors the two were a couple, but it was much more casual than that.


Aside from a few movie nights and group outings, the duo rarely saw each other. Says Celebuzz’s insider:
